Starting off I wanted to Blog about what my dream destinations to photograph are, However I thought my first blog should be more appropriately about who I am as a photographer.
All my life I have had an Artistic and creative mind. From an early age I had a strong connection with music. I have played many instruments such as the sax, viola, violin and guitar. Guitar being my Favorite. All this being said, it paved the road to where I am now.
Being a “creative” I see things in everyday life that many people may miss. Small details such as the iridescent colors on a small beetle or the textures of the feathers on a hummingbird. I also have a strong sense for composition and visual balance that pleases the eye.
Of course life happened you grow up get a job, get married have kids, and get caught up in Adulthood. Don’t get me wrong! I Love being a father and love it deeply. Having time or making time to be creative can get pushed to the side. Not being able to be creative for a long time being who I am left a void. After many years my marital status changed leaving me with much time to myself. I got back into music heavily and along came the “smart phone” lol. With the smart phone camera I got into taking photos of flowers and insects in very creative ways. I then found a social media site similar to instagram and posted many pictures that caught the eye of some well established professional photographers that praised my photographs and really encouraged me to get a more professional camera.
For the first year to year and a half I photographed wildlife and grew a real attachment to nature. The photographs I was doing gained much attention and followers on many social sites including Facebook. I was approached by a young couple that insisted I shoot their wedding. I laughed and quickly declined. I shoot birds bugs and flowers…I know nothing about shooting people. Again they insisted and I caved. In short I nailed it and made money to boot. From then on my bookings grew and I was setting up many creative conceptual sessions. I have been hooked ever since. I absolutely love the joy and satisfaction
My clients have from the work I give.
